Hello, I need some hair style ideas for my wedding. I'm black but when I look in black mags, they are mainly "coloured" "wild" and "crazy" styles that I don't think are appropriate for a wedding besides, they're not my style. My friends have suggestied looking in mainstream magazines rather than looking in "Black Hair". I've had a look at these and I like a lot of the styles however my hair is not that long. I may have to put in a weave to give it some lenght. Any ideas??? Pls send websites links to hairstyles with pictures. Thanks

Somehow or another women got the idea that for any special event their hair had to be "put up" and I for one cannot tell you how much I hate to see those hairstyles. They look so antiquated!!!
My suggestion for any special occasion is to wear your hair how you always wear it. Why? Because you will be busy enough with the event itself and you should be enjoying it. How can you do that when it's in the back of your mind all the time how your hair looks and if it's still in place?
Your hair will look special enough with whatever type of headpiece and\or veil you chose to wear. There is no need to complicate it.
Congratulations and enjoy your wedding!

Have you tried searching the internet for "wedding hairstyles". Some sites have a virtual area where you can play and look at all kinds of hair styles. some you can even download your pic and try the styles on yourself.
Good luck and Congratulations.

As a hairstylist for 12 years and bridal being my speciality!!! I will tell you that classic, elegant and timeless are the way to go. Perhaps instead of getting a weave, you can have an extention piece placed into your hair in a low chignon....It is hard to tell without seeing your facial structure.....your dress style, and your personality. Most hairstylist will offer you a free verbal consultation and offer some suggestions.....If and when you feel comfortable with what a stylist is telling you.....book a trial and see if you like the work proformed before your big day!!
